OBITUARY:

Glenda Nix, 83, died peacefully on October 12, 2023 as her battle with cancer came to an end. She will be remembered by all who knew her as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, little sister, aunt, neighbor and friend. Glenda's most cherished accomplishment, after being a mother, was being a grandmother. She leaves behind a grandson who will carry on her love of friendship, life and nature. Glenda was born and raised in West Texas (OHS Class of 1958) and never moved too far away. She was a Texan through and through her whole life. Glenda graduated from Baylor University with a bachelor's degree in accounting. She went on to work for the IRS where she stayed for the entirety of her career until retirement. This is also where she would meet her husband Brian Ball. She enjoyed spending time with family, gardening, keeping up to date on current events, traveling and socializing with friends. She was very proud to be a Master Gardener and Citizen Forester. She was also very active at church events, Bible study, and Sunday school. She was a member of Lovers Lane United Methodist Church in Dallas. She is survived by her beloved husband of 30 years, Brian Ball; daughter-in-law, Christina Nix-Beno and her son, Austin; brother, Duane Moreland and his children, Stefanie and Mike, their children and grandchildren. Glenda is preceded in death by her parents, George and Margaret, and son, Murray Nix. A memorial service for Glenda will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Lovers Lane United Methodist Church, 9200 Inwood Rd, Dallas, TX 75220. Family asks that in lieu of flowers, gifts can be made to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation or Lovers lane UMC Food Ministry. Glenda's family wishes to thank Dr. Thomas Froehlich and the staff of UT Southwestern Oncology in Dallas for their astute and compassionate care throughout Glenda's illnesses.
