Last night my beautiful, compassionate sister, Daphne Ann Read Riley entered into God's eternal kingdom and was met there by our mother and father. She was a 1958 graduate of Odessa High School where she was a cheerleader and she was crowned "Miss West Texas" (circa 1959-60). I was always very proud of her and will miss her much more than I ever imagined. To my kids and grandchildren, she was "Aunt Sissy" and to her grandchildren, she was Granny. Interment in Colmesneil Cemetery in Colmesneil, Texas at 1:00 PM. Visitation is Monday, October 3, 2011, from 5 PM - 8 PM at the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas. Pallbearers are Jared Newton, Grant Riley, Garrett Newton, Cody Newton, Davyd Read and William Morrison. Honorary Pallbearers are "UMW" United Methodist Women of Livingston.

She was born December 31, 1939 in Effingham, Illinois to Elvin Beniker Read, Sr. and Anna Pauline Morrison Read and passed away on September 29, 2011 in Dallas, Texas. She is preceded in death by parents, Elvin Beniker Read Sr. and Anna Pauline Morrison Read.
