Linda Jo Scowden Cooper, (b 10-1-1940; d 12-1-2013)

EL RENO, OKLA. Linda Jo Cooper, 73, died Sunday, December 1, 2013, at Mercy Hospital in El Reno, Oklahoma.

Graveside services have been scheduled at 1 p.m. today, Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, at El Reno Cemetery in El Reno, Okla., with the Rev. Mark Mason officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home of El Reno, Okla.

Linda was born October 1, 1940, in Kane, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Rexford and Doris (Moore) Scowden. She was a 1958 graduate of Odessa High School in Odessa, Texas. She worked as a telephone operator for AT&T before she became a full time homemaker, devoted to caring for her family. She married Leonard Cooper (OHS 1958) on January 23, 1960. For the last 31 years they made El Reno their home. She enjoyed quilting, flower gardens and animals, especially her cat, Callie.

She is survived by her husband, Leonard; a son, Lloyd P. Cooper of Austin, Texas; a brother, James Scowden of Seattle, Washington; and a sister, Rebecca Scowden of Odessa.
