As a post script to Hugh Cochron.........he was voted the best athlete in the history of Big Spring High School. A 143 lb running back, he could do it all. He won 15 varsity letters. That is four per year and three his freshman year. There were no weaknesses in his athletic prowess. He was a scratch golfer and an Olympic quality high board diver. He was truly an amazing athlete and coached basketball and golf at OHS for many years. Our class of '58 can remember his also as being our football coach at Crockett in 7th grade (1952). Funny thing, he didn't look "athletic".
Also his little sister, MaryJo, married my older brother, Bob. She died in 1969.
