OHS 1959 classmate Glynda Pryor passed away Thursday 3-28-2019 in Odessa. Services are tenatively set for 1:00 pm on April 6, 2019 at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa, Texas. 



ODESSA - Glynda Mae Pryor, long-time Dallas resident who recently moved back to Odessa, went to be with her Lord on March 28, 2019.

Glynda was born in Odessa on July 8, 1941 to Thornton Earl and Thelma Katherine Pryor. She attended local schools graduating from Odessa High School in 1959. She enjoyed music and was a member of the Odessa High School choir as well as the choir at Temple Baptist Church. After attending Odessa Junior College for two years, Glynda transferred to and graduated from Texas Tech in 1964. Upon graduation Glynda had jobs in Odessa, which included teaching at Ector High School and working for Texas Electric. In the late 1960s she made a career change. She moved to Dallas permanently and began working in sales for Xerox Corporation and later worked for Gunlocke in the commercial furniture industry until her retirement. Glynda was a bright, determined and energetic woman always making her own way and doing it well.

Glynda was a member of Park Cities Baptist Church in Dallas. She always looked forward to and especially enjoyed her Thursday morning Bible class there.

Preceding Glynda in death are her parents: sisters, Arada Jones, Mary Ann Pike, and Dorothy Moore: niece, Wanda Kathleen Powders and nephew, Jeffery Moore.

She is survived by her brothers: Joe Pryor and wife Nelda of Bakersfield, California and Charles V. Jones of Odessa, Texas: nieces and nephews, Debbie Costa and husband Joe, Steve Powders and wife Ann, Lori Powders, Chyree Jones and husband Jim, Cindy McElyea and husband Jimmy, Lisa Dooley and husband Terry, Michael Moore, Chris Pryor and wife Denise, Stacy Reeves and husband Todd along with many precious great and great-great nieces and nephews, some of whom called her Gigi to Glynda's delight!

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 6, 2019, at 1:00 in the afternoon at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.
