RecountingBuddy's Saturday (7-17) Services (from Terry Pratt)
Buddy's service at Lawnhaven in San Angelo was a fitting ceremony for Buddy; it was well attended by his family, golfing buddies, business associates and many of his high school friends from Odessa.
An inspiring service was conducted by his nephew Chaplin Larry Hood. Larry had a lot of antidotes to tell about growing up with his Uncle Buddy.
As several of Buddy's football team mates were present, I had made arrangements with Larry for some of us to honor Buddy by each saying a few words about our admiration for him. During the service we gathered around Buddy's casket and spoke of our fond memories of growing up with Buddy in Odessa. Team mates present were David Kerr, David Noble, John Henson, Gerald Erwin, Snooky Adams, Howard Bethel, Jim Furry and myself.
After the ceremony, his wife and daughters and many others expressed their appreciation to us for standing up for Buddy and showing our love for him.
