Priscilla Ann Hickam Nelson   (OHS 1959)

ANDREWS. Priscilla Ann Hickam Nelson, age 71, of Odessa, passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at Hospice House of Odessa. She was born in Corpus Christi, TX on January 18, 1941 to the late Paul Moxley Hickam and Ara Lee (Davis) Hickam. She was a retired LVN and nursing home administrator.

Priscilla was a skilled seamstress. She loved to crochet, embroider, and sew. She used to make dozens and dozens of doll dresses for her daughters and granddaughters. An artistic person, she enjoyed painting with oils and acrylics as well. She did not have much time, however, to spend on her hobbies. Priscilla came directly from college to a job as director of nursing. Her work at the nursing home kept her busy sixteen hours a day.

She is survived by her son: Paul L. Nelson and wife Elizabeth "Beth" of Topeka, KS; daughters: LaFonda Fletcher and husband Keith of Blanchard, OK and DeAnna Giesick of Odessa; sister: Kay Scroggins and husband Budd of Odessa; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside Memorial services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Andrews Old Cemetery, officiated by Brother John Snider. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel, 8115 W University Blvd. Odessa, TX, and condolences to the family may be sent online at acreswestfuneral.com.
