Linda Perry Wallender

Our beloved wife, mother and grandmother fulfilled her earthly tasks and went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 6, 2015. This kind and gentle woman will remain forever in our hearts and memories.

Linda Deloris Perry was born October 14, 1940, in Odessa, Texas, the third child of John R. and Laura J. Perry. She married K. David Wallender July 25, 1965, and lived most of her life in Odessa, with the exception of a few years in New Orleans when she moved, with her husband, to his new job. She loved to travel and one of the joys of her life was when she and David took their motor home on the road to see new and distant places and their lake home was a favorite retreat, often lasting days or even weeks.

She was totally devoted to her family, especially her children and grandchildren, and always placed their needs above her own. She was generous with her time and was a patriot, often participating in the welcome home activities for our troops returning home from Iraq and Afghanistan. She considered it to be one of her duties and continued until health issues forced her retirement. Prior to retirement she was office manager at Reaction Chemical, a local business owned by she and her husband.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents, John R. and Laura Perry, brother Billy R. Perry

Linda is survived by her husband, David, sons Joe/Charlotte Wallender, Tine Wallender, daughters Susan Allison, Molly Harris, Michelle Smith/Eric, Marcelle Patterson/Chad, brother, Gerald Perry/LaVeta, Fourteen grandchildren: Joshua, Jenna, Justin, Jaylyn, Cory, Steven, Kelsey, Kaylee, Brandon, Kasey, Davin, Taryn, Kaleb, Kaitlyn; Ten great grandchildren; Oliver, Emery, Britton, Ezra, Aidan, Lilly, Levi, Valen, Braylee and Bronson.

Family visitation will be from 6:00pm to 8:00pm Wednesday April 8, 2015, at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday April 9 at 2:00pm at Highland UMC 1808 N. Dixie Blvd, Odessa.
