Alfred M. "Ace" Vanley, Jr (1957)

ODESSA: Alfred Monroe "Ace" Vanley Jr., 76, of Odessa, Texas, passed away Sunday, September 13, 2015, at his home surrounded by his loving family. 

Viewing will begin at 9:00 a.m. with family receiving visitors from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at American Heritage Chapel. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at the Odessa Bible Church at 2110 E. 10th St. with the Rev. Wayne Zeigler officiating. Burial will be at the American Heritage Cemetery.

Known as Ace to his family and friends, Mr. Vanley was born March 31, 1939, in Bartlesville, OK, to Alfred and Gladys Vanley. He graduated from Odessa High School in 1957 and earned an associate's degree in electrical engineering from Odessa College. He proudly served his country in the 
U.S. Navy, serving in the Far East. He owned and operated Ace Supply and Repair in Odessa for many years until his retirement. Ace enjoyed music, sports and leading worship services at church. He was a loving father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He was a very giving person and helped many people during his lifetime, and he was known for his great sense of humor.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kathy Renee Vanley; brother Jackie Lee Vanley; and infant sister, Patty Ann Vanley.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Vanley; sons, Damon Keith Vanley and wife Deborah, Cary Wade Vanley and wife Glenna, Alfred Monroe (Trey) Vanley III and wife Hannah and Jeremiah Daniel Vanley and wife Shay; brother, James Marion Vanley; sister, Lynda Jewell Vanley; grandchildren, Mathew Brandon Vanley, Lance Stuart Vanley, Lily Monroe Vanley, Luke Benjamin Vanley, Alexander Monroe Vanley and Camille Diana Vanley; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and family.
