Judy Elizabeth Hendrick, OHS'59

FORTH WORTH - Judith Elizabeth Hendrick passed away October 12, 2017 in Fort Worth, Texas. Judy was born in Odessa, Texas on February 19, 1941. She graduated from Odessa High School in 1959, attended, and later graduated from Texas Christian University in May 1997.

She began working at the Tarrant County District Clerks Office followed by a long career with the United States Bankruptcy Court Northern District. Judy began as a clerk and eventually became the Deputy in Charge. She retired after 30 years of service on February 2, 2001.

Judy loved animals. From horses to dogs to cats and all others. In her later years, she worked with the Feral Cat Association of Texas trying to reduce the feral cat population. Judy helped the City of Fort Worth's cat population through a catch, neuter and release program.

She was also active in the Citizens on Patrol (COP) group for over 20 years. She received numerous COP awards and was recognized by the Fort Worth Police Department.

She is preceded in death by her parents, B.C. "Son" and Hazel Eisenwine Hendrick, her brothers, B. C. "Nard" Hendrick and Beau Jack Hendrick.

Judy is survived by her sister-in-law's Marita Hendrick-Odessa, Texas, and Tina Rhoads-Pecos, Texas, her niece and nephews, Kathy Hendrick-Denison, Texas, B.C. "Cal" Hendrick-Odessa, Texas and Beau Tatum Hendrick-Southlake, Texas along with her great nieces and nephews, Kaitlin and Hunter Hendrick and Tristan & Tatum Hendrick. She is also survived by a long-time friend, Debbie Stevens of Fort Worth, Texas.

Per her wishes, graveside services under the direction of Hubbard Kelly Funeral Home and will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2017 at the Ector County Cemetery with Dr. Dawn Weaks officiating.
